Programme > Programme OverviewThe conference includes four compact plenary sessions on the topics mentioned above, all held on the first day. Each session will be chaired by two scientists. These one and a half hour sessions will include three to four presentations from invited speakers about the overarching topic of the session. On the second day, synergy workshops will be arranged for each topic, based on short “impulse presentations”. Up to three key questions covering the debate about each topic will be discussed within the workshop in interactive “world café” sessions. Key arguments will be collected and discussed in the Science-Policy Session in order to identify research gaps and key recommendations for policy and research. Poster sessions will play a key role in the conference. These will be introduced in plenary by each author through a short one-slide presentation of half a minute in order to attract participants for their topics. Currently under discussion is the degree to which the results of the discussions during the conference will be summarized in a synthesis paper identifying research gaps and key research recommendations for the development of new synergies in the field of biodiversity and food security.
